Greek Fire; The Return of ‘Johnny Venus’

12/4/2012 Greek Fire, Pop’s Nightclub Sauget, IL. – Presented by StL Radio station 105.7 The Point, this was the first of a series of “Ho Ho” shows held annually in The Lou (Gaslight Anthem with guest Greek Fire). While the night was designed to kick off the Christmas Holiday season with Rock n Roll & good times, the reality is, this night was all about the return of Greek Fire’s symbol of Hope, Johnny Venus. After taking off from performing for virtually all of 2012 following his diagnosis of Leukemia, it was time. Time to get back on stage, time to reunite with his best friends and bandmates, and time to let everyone know his heartfelt gratitude, appreciation, and love for the support he’s received from the music community all year. Welcome back JV, we missed you. While others may not have found the will to carry on, you came back better, and stronger, both as a musician, and as a person. Always a pleasure to photograph this band, but tonight it was simply an honor to be in the house. Photos below.
