June 26, 2010 Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, St. Louis – Summer in StL wouldn’t be the same without a visit from Jacksonville, Florida’s .38 Special. They rocked the house last year accompanying STYX and REO Speedwagon (Can’t Stop Rockin Tour), and this year, they held the opening spot with Bret Michaels and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Their job tonight was simple… Take your 30 + years of experience, play an albums worth of hits (that most people may not realize they had ‘that’ many), and work this packed house into a frenzy to get the Southern Rock Meltdown party started. And that’s exactly what they did. Don Barnes, Donnie Van Zant, guitarist Danny Chauncy, keyboardist Bobby Capps, and the rhythm section of the great Larry Junstrom on bass, and newest member Gary Moffatt on the drum kit threw it down tonight.
